Case File Enquiry / Enforcement Officer

This requirement is for a self-motivated individual with experience in interviewing including statement taking and / or experience of process summons service. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that charge, bail and other files are completed within the required timescales and to the required quality standards of the criminal justice system. They will be undertaking enquiries, locating witnesses and obtaining statements relating to the completion of evidential case files in support of operational officers. They will also be undertaking enquiries and gathering evidence for other Forces, and serving warrants and other papers on members of the public. Applicants need to have sound communication skills since they will also be liaising with other agencies, e.g. housing partnerships, domestic violence workers and the Witness Service, to ensure that witnesses understand and feel comfortable with the Criminal Justice processes. CID Investigative Support

We are seeking proficient investigators for this busy Area Crime Unit office to undertake duties including taking statements, viewing and collecting CCTV footage, basic telephone enquiries, collecting and delivering exhibits, and any other activity in support of serious crime investigations. Investigator (Road Traffic Collisions) - Cambridgeshire

Key duties for this position will include: contacting victims of RTC’s and providing updates when applicable; sending letters and Notice of Intended Prosecutions to suspects; maintaining/updating excel spreadsheet information; taking statements; interviewing suspects; general investigation duties, including PNC checks/CCTV enquiries; liaison with bus companies / taxi licensing / city council/PCSOs and preparing prosecution files. Drugs Intelligence Coordinator
- Reading / Newbury with regional travel
- c.£12 - £14.70 per hour

Applicants for this 7 month contract should be confident communicators who have a flexible, proactive approach to work. The purpose of the role is to identify all intelligence in regards to drug-related criminality and abuse, and provide a confidential, efficient and effective link between intelligence development, the local authorities and the police.

Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills and must be able to communicate at all levels. Prior experience in data collection is necessary, as is a working knowledge of IT systems such as Microsoft Word and Excel. This position requires flexibility in terms of working times due to planned initiatives and various events (e.g. Reading Rock Festival and WOMAD etc.). Prior and/or relevant experience in the drugs field, community development or policing (e.g. issues of drugs misuse) is also essential.

Custody Detention Officers

We are experiencing repeated urgent requirements for Custody Detention Officers for short term contracts throughout Norfolk. These assignments would ideally suit former police officers with experience of custodial work who with to work the odd day or two every now and again without committing to longer term contracts. Video Witness Assistant
- Thames Valley
- c.£9 - £10.50 per hour - 8 1/2 month contract

This position requires an individual with PNC skills in addition to IT skills with an eye for detail who can work with minimal supervision. Key responsibilities will be to audit and ‘red-box’ unsuitable or sub-standard video images that do not meet the National Imaging Standards; maintain a spreadsheet of system users to identify individuals consistently failing to achieve the standards; ensure regular liaison with Reliance managers in order that appropriate action can be taken with regard to retraining, coaching, or assisting staff to take VW captures for the force; give training inputs both to new members of Reliance staff and individually to Reliance managers; maintain national contacts with other forces as Chairman of the VW National User Group and chairing NUG conferences in order to network and identify best practice in the field; verify and analyse VW KPI’s and performance information.

Child Protection Officer

We are seeking a former police officer who is trained Joint Investigation with children services and video interview relating to sexual offence to fill this position. The post holder will also be required to investigate: allegations / reasonable suspicion of sexual, physical, emotional abuse and neglect of persons under 18 years where the alleged offender is a family member (as defined within the DA definition); unexpected and unexplained death of children under 18 years in non-suspicious circumstances as per the RRT policy (in suspicious circumstances the CPU will act in an advisory capacity to MIT/CID); where offences occur on children by adults who are in a position of trust e.g. social workers, teachers and includes voluntary sector as well as statutory organisations.

Crime Trainer

Applicants must possess a sound working knowledge of criminal law and procedure and have worked comprehensively in the field of crime investigation. The successful candidate will have been qualified as a Detective who has previously completed an Initial CID Course or ICIDP course and has a proven ability within the training arena.

The role entails planning, preparing and designing training products as well as the delivery of training sessions to officers at PIP Level One and PIP Level Two in accordance with the Wiltshire Police Training Plan plus the identified training needs within the ICIDP. There will be occasions when the applicant will be required to deliver other Detective Training Programmes. The successful candidate will work primarily at Devizes but on occasions at other locations within the Wiltshire Police area. The post holder will also provide support to officers, at their operational stations, with regard to Crime Investigation Training.

Any applicant should be able to demonstrate good communication and presentation skills plus assessment and evaluation skills.

This is an opportunity for experienced investigators to undertake work relating to allegations of child abuse. Responsibilities will include: interviewing suspects / witnesses; case file preparation (may include child abuse images); assisting in searches (warrants etc); completing administrative functions; and monitoring registered sex offenders. Please note candidates may be required to work in any of the disciplines of the Public Protection Dept according to experience. It would be desirable for candidates to be skilled in one or all of the following areas: child abuse investigation, monitoring of Dangerous and Registered Sex Offenders, and Indecent Images of Children Investigations.
